The Geological Museum's AR activation showcases digital pop-ups of prehistoric animals, allowing visitors to explore their forms and lives.
Established in 1928, the Bandung Geological Museum is one of Indonesia's leading museums, housing a rich collection of geological and paleontological artifacts. The museum aims to educate the public about the history of the Earth and the life that once thrived on it.
The museum wanted to enhance visitor education regarding extinct prehistoric animals. They faced the challenge of effectively conveying information about these creatures' habitats, behaviors, and distinctive features, helping visitors appreciate the significance of natural history and environmental conservation.
We brought nine Geological Museum collections to life through AR experiences, featuring extinct animals and geological wonders such as the Javan Rhino, Blora Elephant, Ancient Boar, Amethyst, Ammonite, Meteorite, Tridacna Gigas, Megalodon, and T-Rex. Visitors can use their devices to bring these extinct creatures to life digitally, enabling them to observe the shapes, characteristics, and habits of these ancient animals during their lifetimes.
