Bandung, August 03, 2026 — Indonesia's Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), in collaboration with Assemblr EDU and supported by Samsung through Samsung for Education, today announced a strategic collaboration to launch ImajiNation 2026, a national digital creation championship designed to help Indonesian students develop creativity, coding, artificial intelligence (AI), critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through hands-on, project-based learning.

The collaboration supports the implementation of Indonesia's Coding and Artificial Intelligence subject alongside the Deep Learning approach introduced by Kemendikdasmen. Through this initiative, students are encouraged not only to use technology as a tool, but also to create with it by developing innovative ideas and digital solutions. Together, Kemendikdasmen, Assemblr EDU, and Samsung through Samsung for Education are committed to equipping Indonesia's next generation with future-ready skills while building confidence as digital creators.
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said that ImajiNation 2026 shares the same spirit as the implementation of Coding and Artificial Intelligence learning in schools.

"ImajiNation reflects the same vision of supporting the implementation of Coding and Artificial Intelligence learning in schools. Our goal is not simply to teach students how to write code, but to nurture systematic, creative, collaborative, and problem-solving ways of thinking," he said.
According to Minister Mu'ti, the championship is more than a competition, it is a learning experience that helps shape students' character, creativity, and computational thinking skills.
"I encourage teachers across Indonesia to become part of ImajiNation 2026 by creating innovative projects that inspire classroom practice while guiding students to ask questions, experiment, collaborate, and transform ideas into meaningful solutions," he added.
Targeting more than 11,000 participants from over 2,000 schools across 38 provinces, ImajiNation 2026 is one of Indonesia's largest digital creation initiatives in education. Through a project-based learning approach, participants will strengthen computational thinking, creativity, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills by developing interactive projects using Visual Coding, 3D, and Augmented Reality (AR).
The championship features three student competition tracks for elementary, junior high, and senior high/vocational high school students, alongside a dedicated category for teachers. Using the Assemblr EDU platform, participants can create interactive digital experiences through Visual Coding and immersive 3D/AR without requiring text-based programming skills or specialized hardware.

Founder and CEO of Assemblr EDU, Hasbi Asyadiq, said that ImajiNation represents a shared commitment between Kemendikdasmen, Assemblr EDU, and Samsung through Samsung for Education to provide teachers and students across Indonesia with opportunities to learn, create, and innovate through technology.
"Through Visual Coding, 3D visualization, and Augmented Reality, we are encouraging Indonesia's younger generation not only to become users of technology, but also innovators who create with it," he said.

Beyond the championship itself, the collaboration also provides a series of learning opportunities leading up to the Grand Final. Assemblr EDU contributes its immersive 3D/AR creation platform and expertise in project-based learning, enabling participants to transform ideas into interactive digital experiences. Kemendikdasmen provides national education relevance and alignment with Indonesia's education priorities. Meanwhile, through Samsung for Education, Samsung contributes its Galaxy technology expertise and a series of enablement sessions designed to help participants understand how technology can support ideation, collaboration, digital creation, and presentation throughout their project development journey.

Ian Chong, Head of Mobile Enterprise & Education, Samsung Southeast Asia & Oceania, said:
"ImajiNation encourages us to go beyond simply using technology, it inspires us to create with it. Technology empowers students to imagine new ideas, build their own creations, refine them, and share them with others. That is what makes this program truly meaningful."
The championship will be conducted in two stages, beginning with a nationwide online qualification round before culminating in an in-person Grand Final, where the country's top finalists will showcase their projects on the national stage.
One of the Grand Final's highlights is the Junior High School (SMP) Makers category, where four finalist teams will compete in a live Visual Coding Battle before a public audience. Teams will develop and present their projects in real time, demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and digital problem-solving skills.

Beyond the competition, the Grand Final will also host an Education Expo, bringing together students, teachers, schools, government institutions, technology companies, and education partners to explore the future of digital learning in Indonesia. Visitors will be able to experience interactive exhibitions, partner showcases, and a wide range of educational activities throughout the event.
Registration for ImajiNation 2026 is free of charge. Students may choose one of three creative themes: Dream Quest, Eco Quest, or Culture Quest, while teachers will develop interactive 3D/AR projects aligned with their chosen subject areas before submitting their work for evaluation by the national judging panel.

The ImajiNation 2026 Grand Final will take place in October 2026 as an in-person event, bringing together finalists, teachers, schools, government representatives, industry partners, media, and families from across Indonesia to celebrate creativity, innovation, and the future of digital learning.
Through this collaboration, Assemblr EDU, Kemendikdasmen, and Samsung aim to inspire more Indonesian students to see technology not only as a tool for learning, but also as a platform for creativity, collaboration, and meaningful problem-solving, helping shape the next generation of confident, future-ready digital creators.
